I trust most are aware of Joni's Phoenix appearance recently. Being a devotee I'm thrilled and all that but what stood out for me was the strength of the human spirit and what can be accomplished when you get slammed by life. It also brought up Jerry in the strangest of ways. What she went through the past 5 years seems eerily like what he went through in 86. I just can't imagine. And the other thing is a fantasy. I wish Jerry would have made it through. I would have loved to see him on a stage singing surrounded by all those who love and support him. At any rate, this was my last view of the big guy. Don't know about the interview but I want that shirt.

Oh, and here's a great article about Newport.

He'd end up turning that monkey parable on it's ear, in that wonderful, classic Jerry/Bob Hunter fashion. He became fond of saying, "There's too many monkeys on this mud ball." Classic silver lining/touch of grey stuff.
